Houdini Llewellin Setters - Dog Training & Advice

We do not condone rapid training techniques that employ harsh treatment. Dogs are like people, no two are alike, and that is the way they should be treated and trained. We recommend the Silent Command System™ created by the Smith family. We fully endorse this training method and recommend and use Hay Creek Kennels, LLC for any of our training needs.

Sonny Piekarz and family run a pet safe training facility in North Central Wisconsin. Sonny is one of the Midwest’s premier dog trainers and part of Team Hunt Smith, he is ready to help you with your training. His facility and training techniques speak for themselves so please contact Sonny with any questions you have about his training.

Houdini Llewellin Setters is pleased to be teamed up with Hay Creek Kennels located in Gilman, WI. HCK is located off of a ½ mile dead end road on 80 acres with a dog friendly training area, this bird field is a 40 acre sanctuary surrounded by a dog safe fence.

Training Field

We also recommend Greg Fryar of High Fly’n Kennels, he also practices the Silent Command System™ for training and trains out in Mott, ND during the summer months. He is located in Elko, MN and trains there from January to mid July. Greg has been with us for a number of years and has trained a number of our personal dogs and some of the HLS dogs. He to is available for training questions or questions about his programs he offers at his kennels.

Houdini Llewellin Setters does have Started Dogs available on occasion. A Started Dog is one that will hunt to your front, has had bird and gun introduction done. Prices vary depending upon the level of training accomplished and the natural ability of each individual dog.

A Finished Dog is one who has completed "Training". Prices vary depending upon the level of training and the natural ability of each individual dog.
